Silk knickers worn by Adolf Hitler's mistress Eva Braun have sold at auction for £3700 GBP [$4610 USD]. The pink undies were bought by an unknown UK telephone bidder. The bidder also bought her cotton nightie for £2600 GBP [$3240 USD] when it went under the hammer at a sale by Humbert & Ellis Auctioneers in England. The elasticated light pink underwear feature Braun's monogrammed initials embroidered on the front. They are said to have come from "a significant private European WWII collection". Auctioneer Jonathan Humbert said: "There continues to be a perennial interest in personal artefacts from such notorious high level WWII figures and accordingly such items, even without provenance, command high prices." Sold in the same sale was a gold plated bracelet belonging to the wife of Hermann Goring (Emmy Goring) for £1850 GBP [$2305 USD]. It bears a central locket featuring a Swastika with white and red stones and opening to reveal picture of Hitler within, engraved 'Emmy Goring Weinachten 1938'. Eva Braun met Hitler in 1929 when she was 17 and he was 40, and became his lover. They married in 1945 shortly before both committed suicide.
