July 15 2026. // A gran is refusing to sell a section of her garden to developers to build a monster £45 million bypass road - to protect an ancient oak tree. Jean Harris, 79, said developers came knocking ten years ago demanding a slice of 2/3 acre plot, but she has vowed never to give in.The retired school secretary and music teacher has lived in her bungalow in the Herefordshire village of Allensmore for 23 years after moving in with her husband who has since passed away.
