VIDEO: Brit pays less than ‘cost of a pint’ for overnight stay in tourist hot spot
A savvy Brit managed to book an overnight stay in central London for less than the average price of a pint.
Spencer Hewins could not believe his luck when he came across a hostel that saved him hundreds of pounds on accommodation.
The 24-year-old had travelled to the capital for a job interview and was in desperate need of a place to stay the night before.
For just Ł6.05, Spencer booked himself into the Bell House hostel, Bell Street, London - just a stone's throw from Regent’s Park.
“I was incredibly shocked at the price - I thought it was a glitch at first,” Spencer, from Ashford, Kent, told NeedToKnow.
“I was just casually looking on the app Hostelworld for a stay in London as I had a job interview.
“Usually I’m expecting around Ł20 for a night in a hostel, which is still good for London.”
Spencer shared his experience online, with the clip reaching a whopping 620,600 views and racking up 50,700 likes.
The business owner blew viewers away with the tiny amount he spent on a room for the night.
Spencer’s room fit nine others and was equipped with a shared shower and toilets.
All guests had access to the free Wi-Fi, with lockers available to store your items.
Spencer said: “The hostel was really good value for money.
“Toilets and showers were clean, it did the job.
“The room was standard but good, lockers available, you just need your own padlock.
“Beds were pretty comfortable, again clean, no hairs when I checked.
“It was definitely worth it, even for the location alone.
