De altfel, in Marea Britanie exista meseria de „nutritionist specialist in fertilitate”. Dr. Marion Glenville este un astfel de profesionist si, potrivit spuselor sale, „pentru unele cupluri alimentatia poate determina daca cei doi vor deveni sau nu parinti”. Potrivit unor teste realizate la Surrey University, in urmatoarele trei luni dupa schimbarea obiceiurilor alimentare, in jur de 80% din cuplurile cu probleme inexplicabile de fertilitate au reusit sa conceapa un copil. Pentru cei care doresc sa incerce o astfel de varianta, iata un ghid al alimentatiei pentru sarcina.
Femei
Ele ar trebui sa inceapa sa consume suplimente de acid folic cu trei luni inainte de a incerca sa faca un copil si sa continue pana in a 12-a saptamana de sarcina. Doza zilnica de acid folic ar trebui sa fie de 600 de micrograme. Acidul folic poate fi gasit in legumele verzi, cu frunze, cum ar fi varza, in cereale, carne, cartofi si portocale. Din alimentatie nu se pot procura mai mult de 200 de micrograme zilnic, asa ca suplimentele ar trebui sa asigure restul de 400 de micrograme.
Zincul e un mineral necesar pentru sanatatea oaselor, crestere si intarirea sistemului imunitar. Daca un cuplu are probleme cu fertilitatea, nutritionistii recomanda suplimente de zinc inca de la inceput. Acest mineral e necesar in diviziunea celulara si pentru pastrarea nivelului de hormoni reproductivi, estrogen si progesteron. Zincul e continut in carnea rosie, scoici si cereale integrale. Meniul trebuie sa contina salate de fructe de mare, sos cu calorii putine si o friptura in sange.
Un amestec savuros de fructe si legume ofera cantitatea necesara de vitamina C si ajuta organismul sa absoarba cantitatea de fier necesara. Mancati grapefruit, portocale, fructe de padure, fasole, varza si conopida.
Seleniul e vital pentru mentinerea unei fertilitati optime. Studiile au aratat ca animalele a caror alimentatie are un continut scazut de seleniu dau nastere unor pui care cresc incet si cu probleme de reproducere la maturitate. Aceasta substanta protejeaza celulele si previne pierderea de sarcina. Alimentele care contin seleniu sunt nucile, carnea rosie si scoicile. In loc sa alegeti o ciocolata cu alune, incercati sa mancati nuci.
In cazul in care cantitatea de fier consumata e prea mica, exista pericolul aparitiei anemiei, al carei prim simptom e oboseala continua. Femeile anemice se afla in pericol de a da nastere unor copii sub greutatea normala sau prematuri. Nu luati suplimente de fier fara sfatul medicului, pentru ca poate deveni periculos. Fierul se gaseste in carnea rosie, fasole, nuci, apa si cereale. Un meniu potrivit ar fi carne cu chilli si rinichi cu fasole pastai.
Studiile arata ca un aport redus de calciu ar putea fi unul din motivele principale ale tensiunii arteriale ridicate la femeile insarcinate. Cea mai comuna sursa de calciu o constituie produsele lactate, care favorizeaza si ovulatia. Inainte de a vrea sa concepeti un copil, diversificati sursele de calciu, adaugand la dieta legume verzi si sucuri cu suplimente de calciu. In timpul sarcinii, laptele ar trebui sa va dea tot calciul de care aveti nevoie.
Vitaminele B sunt vitale. B12 este necesara pentru producerea ADN-ului si se asociaza in actiune cu acidul folic pentru a preveni defectele neurologice ale fatului. Suplimentele de vitamina B6 par sa imbunatateasca fertilitatea la femeile care sufera de sindrom premenstrual. Ambele vitamine pot fi gasite in carne, peste si oua, iar B12 se mai afla si in extractele de drojdie si cereale. Un foarte bun mic dejun, bogat in vitamine B, ar fi format din peste, orez si oua.
Barbati
In ultimii zece ani, la nivel mondial, continutul de spermatozoizi din lichidul seminal s-a injumatatit in medie, ceea ce, desigur, micsoreaza sansele ca un barbat sa devina tata. Dar si pentru ei exista posibilitatea sa depaseasca aceasta situatie, printr-o dieta protrivita.
Cromul creste numarul de spermatozoizi din lichidul seminal. Aceasta substanta poate fi gasita in cerealele integrale, carne si legume. Seleniul, mentionat si mai devreme, este vital in formarea spermei si studiile au aratat ca, in cazul in care se creste doza zilnica de seleniu consumata, rata fertilitatii se dubleaza. Prea putin zinc duce la scaderea numarului de spermatozoizi si chiar la impotenta.
Carnea rosie ajuta insa un barbat sa revina la o forma de zile mari. Vitamina C face ca spermatozoizii sa fie mai activi, in timp ce studii mai recente au aratat ca vitamina E este la fel de eficienta. Evitati alcoolul.
