La désormais traditionnelle célébration invite tout le monde à parler, poster ou penser « Peace & Love » à un même moment, à midi, heure locale. Ringo Starr a initié cette tradition des célébrations anniversaire « Peace & Love » avec Hard Rock il y a maintenant dix ans, lorsque son épouse Barbara et lui-même ont convié des hordes de fans dans les rues de Chicago. L'événement qui suivit fut une célébration publique face au Hard Rock Cafe New York à Times Square. Une succession d'événements similaires eurent ainsi lieu au fil des années avec notamment des célébrations dans les établissements Hard Rock Cafe de Hambourg en Allemagne et Nashville dans l'Etat de Tennessee aux Etats-Unis.
