Femeia, în vârstă de 34 de ani, susține că fotbalistul a trimis atunci o echipă de „negociatori” care i-ar fi promis suma de 375.000 de dolari pentru a păstra tăcerea și pentru a obstrucționa ancheta, notează sursa citată.
"Neg cu fermitate acuzațiile care îmi sunt aduse. Violul este o faptă abominabilă care este contrară credințelor mele și a tot ceea ce sunt. Dornic de a-mi curăța numele, refuz să hrănesc spectacolul mediatic creat de persoane care urmăresc să se promoveze pe seama mea. Conștiința mea este curată așa că pot să aștept în liniște toate rezultatele oricărei anchete", a spus fotbalistul echipei Juventus Torino.

Mai mult, apărătorii au precizat că, potrivit evaluării psihiatrice, Kathryn Mayorga este inaptă din punct de vedere psihologic pentru a încheia un acord de confidențialitate cu avocații lui Cristiano Ronaldo.
Potrivit avocaților, femeia este speriată și „fragilă din punct de vedere emoțional”.
"Ea a explicat că, în urma atacului din 2009, a suferit o depresie, a avut gânduri obsesive, a luat în calcul să se sinucidă, a consumat alcool și a întâmpinat dificultăți în a-și păstra relațiile personale și locul de muncă", au precizat avocații femeii.
Aceștia susțin că suferința, sindromul post-traumatic și depresia au fost o consecință directă a presupusului atac.
Fotbalistul Cristiano Ronaldo are la dispoziție 20 de zile pentru a răspunde acuzațiilor din momentul deschiderii procesului.
