Moartea cântărețului Prince a luat prin surprindere întreg mapamondul. O mulțime de artiști, personalități și publicații i-au transmis un ultim omagiu cântărețului, prin intermediul rețelelor de socializare, în timp ce în mai multe orașe și state americane artistul este comemrat aprinzând lumini mov în onoarea acestuia pe principalele atracții turistice.
Empire State Buidilng, Turnul Eiffel din Paris,Terminal Tower din Clevelend, Superdomul din New Orleans sau primăria din San Francisco sunt doar câteva din clădirile ce „au îmbrăcat” luminițe mov în onoarea legendarului artist.

NASA a publicat, de asemenea, pe Twitter, o fotografie în care apare o nebuloasă mov, tot în onoarea cântărețuluiși renumitei melodii „Purple Rain” (n.r-Ploaia mov). Totodată, o fotografie cu artisul, îmbrăct într-un costum mov, îl portretizează pe Prince ca simbol al romanului pentru copii „Micul Prinț”, scris de Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.
