Cunoscutul luptător de wrestling Tyler Reks, 42 de ani, a făcut o operație de schimbare de sex. Gabriel „Gabbi” Tuft, pe numele său adevărat, este căsătorit și are o fetiță. Fostul sportiv, retras în 2014, a oferit explicații în programul TV american Extra.
„Aceasta e o latură a mea pe care am ținut-o ascunsă multă vreme. Acum însă pot arăta lumii cine sunt. Au fost 8 luni foarte dificile, cele mai grele din viața mea, în care a trebuit să mă confrunt cu transformarea”, a spus Gabbi Tuft.

”Priscilla, soția mea iubitoare, familia și prietenii cei mai apropiați mă acceptă așa cum sunt. Susținerea lor înseamnă mai mult decât orice pentru mine”, a declarat transgenderul.
Uriașul de 2 metri și 125 de kilograme a mărturisit: „Când aveam 10 ani și părinții nu erau acasă, mă strecuram în dulapul mamei și îi probam hainele. Mă simțeam bine. Am suprimat aceste porniri până acum, din cauza prejudecăților societății, știind că oamenii nu mă vor accepta așa”.
„Nu avem deloc parteneri în afara relației. Eram virgină când ne-am căsătorit, în urmă cu 18 ani și jumătate. Primul nostru sărut a fost în ziua nunții noastre”, povestește soția.
„Viața intimă s-a schimbat destul de mult. Acum am descoperit o parte cu totul diferită a relației noastre”, spune și Gabi.
„Tati, nu mă voi face de râs niciodată cu tine”
Cum se împacă acum cu fiica lui de 9 ani? „I-am spus: Nu cred că o să mai ies să mă plimb cu tine. «De ce, tati?». Mă tem că oamenii s-ar putea să vorbească urât despre mine și asta ar putea să te afecteze. Știți cum a reacționat? Mi-a oferit o îmbrățișare: «Tati, nu mă voi face de râs niciodată cu tine»”.
„Știu că există mii de femei transgender, bărbați transgender, trec prin același proces prin care am trecut și eu și nu au avut sprijinul meu. Promit că voi împărtăși povestea mea și voi fi 100% transparentă, deoarece există mereu o luminiță la capătul tunelului, o rază de speranță. Văzându-mă pe mine, pot spune: «Da, și eu pot face asta!»”, a conchis Gabbi.
Tuft a fost un luptător profesionist cunoscut, care a apărut în programe ca „Raw”, „SmackDown” și „WrestleMania”, divizii de top în wrestling. A părăsit ringul pentru a petrece mai mult timp cu soția și cu fiica sa. E proprietarul companiei de fitness Body Spartan.
